Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) organized a free seminar titled ‘Find Your Passion’ to inspire IIT students to dream big, a media release stated.
The two-hour seminar focused on helping both undergraduate and postgraduate students of IIT as well as members of the general public to understand the importance of finding their passion and the purpose of their life. It emphasized on what it takes to realize a person’s life goals and objectives and drove home the message that every great achievement, innovation and discovery begins with a passionate dreamer who is not afraid to ‘dream big’.
The speaker at the event was the leading trainer Asitha Pinnaduwa, who is a banker by profession and presently serving as an Assistant Vice President – Private Banking at a leading private bank. Asitha has successfully completed a ‘Strategic Leadership’ professional development programme at Harvard University, USA in 2017.
Expressing her views on another successful event, Thushani Dayarathna – Head of HR and Legal of IIT stated, “I wish to express my appreciation for the very inspiring presentation delivered by Asitha Pinnaduwa. The IIT has always believed in helping students to find their passion so that they have a solid foundation to be successful in life.
It is one example of how we at IIT go beyond simply teaching students what’s available in the curriculum. We strive to give all our students a well-rounded education and help them discover more about themselves and also understand the world better.
Asitha’s depth of understanding about the subject matter – finding one’s passion – and his ability to present it in an interesting way produced a memorable evening.
His stories about himself and Sri Lanka were fascinating and gave the audience an opportunity to take a closer look at ourselves, our land, people, and culture,” the media release concluded.
