Information and Communications Technology plays a significant role in the 21st century in both industry and personal lives. It has changed every sector; be it healthcare, financial services, education, entertainment or any other. Technology has
touched every aspect of life, making it easier, better, and different. As a result, there is a high demand in the ICT Sector for skilled graduates.The School of Computing offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in collaboration with British universities namely University of Westminster and Robert Gordon University. During the past 30+ years, the school has been providing highquality graduates to meet the demands of the ICT and other Sectors.

The school has an excellent track record of imparting sound knowledge, and skills to students and forging their attitudes to become highly competent industry specialists in diverse disciplines both in Sri Lanka and overseas. It has also developed an extensive network with the industries which offer opportunities for inspirational project work, placements, research, and knowledge exchange. The School of Computing has a reputation for the quality and innovative nature of its research in a variety of fields, some of which are recognized for their excellence both locally and internationally.

The achievements include winning local and international awards such as the Microsoft Imagine Cup, National Best Quality Software Awards (NBQSA), Asia Pacific Information and Communication Technology Awards (APICTA), e-Swabhimani and many more. In addition, both students and lecturers publish research papers in reputed forums locally and abroad.

Over the last few years, the school has seen a constant increase in the number of graduates, a testament to the level of education provided by the school. It has played a pivotal role in strengthening the IT sector in Sri Lanka over the years by producing world-class graduates.The school has an alumni strength of over 5,000 graduates. Several of them hold prestigious positions in ICT and other sectors locally and abroad. They play a pivotal role in empowering over 250 multinational and blue-chip companies by holding key strategic positions and immensely contributing to the growth of their respective organizations. In addition, some have completed Doctoral programmes and are members of the faculty of world renowned universities.
