The Foundation Awards ceremony of the Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) was held recently at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute (SLFI), Colombo 7.
Over 100 students that had successfully completed the Foundation Certificate in Higher Education offered by IIT were felicitated at the Foundation Awards which was held for the 11th consecutive year.

IIT Basketball and Rugby emerged victorious at the 12th UiTM Sports Fiesta 2017 which was recently held in Malaysia. The IIT Rugby Team was awarded the gold medal while the institutes Basketball team won the Silver medal in the tournament which included the participation of universities from Philippine, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Sri Lanka. Nearly 200 students who graduated received BEng (Hons) Software Engineering, BSc (Hons) Information Systems with Business Management and MSc in Advanced Software Engineering degrees. This year’s Cutting Edge exhibition which was themed “Internet of Things and Entrepreneurship” included over 70 IT and Business related projects which were developed by the institute’s Software Engineering, Computer Science and Business Information Systems (BIS) undergraduates.
