IIT Makes History for Sri Lanka — Won First Place at InnoServe Awards 2025 in Taiwan! 🇱🇰

In a remarkable achievement that marks a historic milestone for Sri Lanka, students from the Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) have secured First Place in the International Category at the InnoServe Awards 2025 held in Taiwan, one of Asia’s most prestigious university innovation competitions.

Representing Sri Lanka on the global stage, Team Novalith from IIT showcased their groundbreaking project, the “Smart Pregnancy Belt”, originally developed as part of their 2nd-year Software Development Group Project (SDGP). Their innovation impressed judges with its blend of cutting-edge technology, real-world applicability, and social impact, addressing a crucial need in maternal health monitoring.

Competing against university teams from 11 countries, the IIT students demonstrated creativity, innovation, and problem-solving ability, setting a new benchmark for technical as well as academic excellence from Sri Lanka.

This victory not only celebrates the talent and dedication of IIT’s students but also reinforces the institute’s reputation as a regional leader in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship education, empowering the next generation of global tech leaders.
