Entry Requirements

Admission Requirements

Applicants must be 35 years of age or below at the time of admission and meet one of the academic entry pathways below.

Pathway A – Commerce Stream

Applicants must have:

  • At least three Simple Passes (S) in the Commerce Stream at the G.C.E. A/L examination in one and the same sitting.
  • A Credit Pass (C) or above in English at the G.C.E. O/L examination, or in General English at the G.C.E. A/L examination.

Pathway B – Non-Commerce Stream with Economics

Applicants must have:

  • At least three Simple Passes (S) in any stream at the G.C.E. A/L examination in one and the same sitting, with Economics as one of the main subjects.
  • A Credit Pass (C) or above in Mathematics at the G.C.E. O/L examination.
  • A Credit Pass (C) or above in English at the G.C.E. O/L examination, or in General English at the G.C.E. A/L examination.

Pathway C – Any Other Stream

Applicants must have:

  • At least three Simple Passes (S) in any stream at the G.C.E. A/L examination in one and the same sitting.
  • Successfully completed an institutional bridging course approved by the University Grants Commission.
  • A Credit Pass (C) or above in Mathematics at the G.C.E. O/L examination.
  • A Credit Pass (C) or above in English at the G.C.E. O/L examination, or in General English at the G.C.E. A/L examination.

Cambridge / Edexcel A/Levels

Applicants with Cambridge or Edexcel A/Level qualifications must have passed a parallel three-subject combination equivalent to the applicable local entry pathway, together with comparable English and Mathematics qualifications.

Applicants may be required to complete the approved bridging course where applicable.

Other International Qualifications

Applicants holding other national or international qualifications must possess a three-subject combination equivalent to the Sri Lankan G.C.E. A/L examination and meet the equivalent English and Mathematics requirements of the applicable admission pathway.

Completion of the approved bridging course may be required where applicable.
