The Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) proudly celebrates the remarkable academic achievements of our students from the Foundation Certificate in Higher Education Programme (September 2025 Intake). This programme sets the critical groundwork for future technological and business leaders, and this year, two exceptional students have set the standard for academic dedication and excellence.
We are thrilled to announce and congratulate our top achievers for the 2025/2026 academic year:
Balasooriya Arachchige Methni Thasanga has been awarded the prestigious Dr. Gamini Wickramasinghe Gold Medal for Outstanding Performance. This award is a testament to her unwavering commitment to academic excellence and her exceptional grasp of the foundational principles required for higher education.
Moratuwawadu Nethuli Sanithma has been honoured with the Academic Excellence Award in recognition of her exemplary academic achievement throughout the year. Her hard work and dedication have consistently shone through in her studies.
The Foundation Certificate is designed to challenge students and prepare them for the rigorous demands of their upcoming undergraduate degrees. Both Methni and Nethuli have not only met these challenges but have exceeded expectations, proving themselves to be outstanding members of the IIT student body.
