Informatics Institute of Technology Convocation 2011

It was the eagerly awaited day of the graduates; IIT’s most highlighted occasion, the 17^th annual Convocation was held at BMICH on 29^th October 2011.

The occasion was graced by the chief guest, Dr. Myszka Guzkowska, Pro-Vice Chancellor of University of Westminster, Deshabandu Surath Wickramasinghe, Dr. Gamini Wickramasinghe and Associate Professor Alfred Perera, Dean of IIT.

IIT Recognised at International Forums

Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) in seeking for excellence in research this year has been recognised in international forums in countries spanning 3 continents, namely, the Netherlands, India, China and USA. The research work has been carried out as part of the final year projects on the BEng. (Hons) Software Engineering Degree Programme conducted by IIT in collaboration with University of Westminster, UK. The research environment created at IIT has been able to facilitate students to reach international recognition at several conference forums of high repute.

IIT Stage Craft - 2012: Stage Craft - the annual extravaganza of IIT students' artistic and creative endeavours will be held on 27^th January 2012 at Bishop's College Auditorium.

As always, this event promises to be a fun-filled evening of entertainment that should, on no account, be missed!!!
IEEE SoCPaR 2011: Two student projects were presented at Third International Conference of Soft Computing and Pattern Recognition (SoCPaR 2011) in October 2011 in Dalian, China. Conference proceedings will be published by IEEE Computer Society.
Google Summer of Code 2011: IIT students, Suranga Nath Kasthurirathne and Ranjana Prasad, win Google Summer of Code (GSoC 2011) award that provides sponsorship and the opportunity to write code for open source software projects.
